Hey guys, just got mine and turned it on - presented with the Controller screen with the logo flashing, if I press the Logo on my controller it starts flashing, but nothing ever happens! What am I meant to be doing here? Thanks
There is a button located on the left side of your console, right around the corner from your disc load. Press and hold it while pressing and holding the one on your controller and that should get you going.
i F%$KING love you! I'm gettin too old to deal w/ these spaceships! I used to get by on intuition, but technology's been kicking my ass lately. You saved me lots of frustration bro
Ok so I'm having the exact same problem but I've tried everything above. Basically it never gets to the part where I can push A. I can see the controller on the screen, sometimes it zooms close but I don't have an option to push any buttons. When the console is off, I can turn on the controller and it will turn on the console too, which would indicate its paired? Friend gave me this Xbox one, went and bought a controller and can't figure it out :/
Same problem, still no solution. Friend gave me Xbox, which wasn't used for longer time. After new controler didn't work (X-light is on, not blinking, but no reaction, same thing when connected with usb). I tried to fix it with a software update by usb-stick, but always ends up showing this conroller on the screen... would be nice to have a solution before christmas...
Ok, so had to take mine into the Microsoft store but they DID get it working. For me the only thing that finally got it so it would work was getting an OLDER controller (I had bought a brand new one) and then they were able to get it to reset using their usb and connecting it to their internet to get it all the updates it needed. My friend had rarely if ever used it so it was really behind. Once mine got all its updates, it's worked fine, even with my new controllers.
Thank you for your report... i could make it work after hours too. i made several updates by usb and restored the factory settings in between until there was no error message anymore and finally it worked and the console accepted my controler...
